Mit der VPN-Verbindung erhalten Sie eine IP-Adresse aus dem Netzwerk-Adressraum der WU. Damit haben Sie Zugriff auf eingeschränkte Online-Services der WU (z.B. Bibliotheksdaten oder Datenbanken).

  • WU-Mitarbeiter*innen und Studierende können die benötigte VPN-Anwendung (GlobalProtect Client von Palo Alto) kostenlos beziehen: Controlpanel > Weitere WU-Services > VPN an der WU.

  • Clients für Windows und Mac OS können Sie außerdem auf der Webseite vpn.wu.ac.at herunterladen.

  • WU Arbeitsplatzcomputer erhalten den VPN-Client aus dem Software Center. Eine Installation ist nur für WU-Notebooks mit Windows 10 nötig, wenn Sie außerhalb des Campus auf Online-Dienste an der WU zugreifen.

By using a VPN connection, you receive an IP-address within the network address space of the WU. This allows you to access restricted WU online services (e.g. library catalogs or databases).

  • WU employees and WU students can download the required VPN client application (GlobalProtect from Palo Alto) free of charge: Controlpanel application > Other WU services > VPN at WU.

  • Clients for Windows and Mac OS are available additionally on the website vpn.wu.ac.at.

  • WU workplace computers get the VPN client from the Software Center. Installation is only necessary for laptop computers running Windows 10 if you access online-services at WU from outside the campus.
