Was bedeutet Compliance?

Compliance - deutsch: Gerätekonformität - bezeichnet technische Anforderungen die ein IT-Gerät erfüllen muss, damit es auf Daten und IT-Dienste an der WU Wien zugreifen darf. Diese Anforderungen sollen sicherstellen, dass alle zentral verwalteten WU-Notebooks, WU-Smartphones oder WU-Tablets vor Cyberangriffen so weit wie möglich geschützt sind.

Im Zusammenhang mit Conditional Access ist es wichtig zu wissen, ob Ihr aktuell verwendetes Gerät den festgelegten Sicherheitsanforderungen entspricht. Es wird u.a. geprüft, ob die vorgegebene Software zur Erkennung von Angriffen oder Schadsoftware installiert ist, ob das Gerät verschlüsselt ist und die neuesten Updates installiert hat.

• Ist das Gerät konform (“compliant”), erhält es Zugriff auf die Daten und IT-Dienste der WU.

• Ist das Gerät nicht konform (“nicht compliant”), wird der Zugriff auf IT-Dienste verweigert oder eingeschränkt.

Compliance-Status anzeigen

Auf zentral verwalteten Geräten prüfen Sie mit folgenden Schritten, ob Ihrem Gerät der Zugriff auf Daten und IT-Dienste der WU Wien erlaubt ist.

1. Öffnen Sie die Anwendung Unternehmensportal am WU-Notebook, WU-Smartphone oder WU-Tablet (nur zentral verwaltete Geräte).

2. Öffnen Sie den Menüeintrag Geräte.

3. Prüfen Sie den Eintrag für Ihr aktuell genutztes Gerät.

   1. Mit dem Status “Kann auf Unternehmensressourcen zugreifen” ist Ihr Gerät compliant.

   2. Mit dem Status “Kein Zugriff auf Unternehmensressourcen” ist Ihr Gerät aktuell nicht compliant.

 

Unternehmensressourcen sind z.B. Anwendungen wie MS Teams oder E-Mail, die auf betriebliche Daten der WU zugreifen.

Compliance wiederherstellen

Wenn Ihr zentral verwaltetes WU Notebook laut der Übersicht im Unternehmensportal nicht auf Unternehmensressourcen zugreifen kann:

1. Melden Sie sich auf dem Gerät mit Ihrem WU-Account an

   1. Beachten Sie dabei auch Anmeldeaufforderungen in einzelnen Anwendungen (z.B. in MS Teams, OneDrive-Client oder Online-Diensten der WU)

2. Installieren Sie ggf. fehlende Updates für das Betriebssystem

Auf Mobilgeräten (WU Smartphone, WU Tablet)

1. Öffnen Sie die App Defender und prüfen Sie, ob diese anzeigt: "Alles sieht gut aus".

2. Falls nicht, kommen Sie bitte den angezeigten Aufforderungen nach (z.B. Betriebssystem aktualisieren).
   Bitte beachten Sie: Es kann ca. 2 Stunden dauern, bis die App Unternehmensportal den bereinigten Gerätestatus der App Defender erhält.

What does Compliance mean?

Compliance - in German: Device conformity - refers to technical requirements that an IT device must meet in order to access data and IT services at WU Vienna. These requirements are intended to ensure that all centrally managed WU notebooks, WU smartphones, or WU tablets are as protected as possible against cyber attacks.

In connection with Conditional Access, it is important to know whether your currently used device meets the established security requirements. It is checked, among other things, whether the specified software for detecting attacks or malware is installed, whether the device is encrypted, and whether it has the latest updates installed.

• If the device is compliant, it will have access to WU's data and IT services.

• If the device is non-compliant, access to IT services will be denied or restricted.

Display Compliance Status

On centrally managed devices, you can check the following steps to see if your device is allowed to access data and IT services of WU Vienna.

1. Open the Company Portal application on the WU notebook, WU smartphone, or WU tablet (only centrally managed devices).

2. Open the Devices menu entry.

3. Check the entry for your currently used device.

   1. With the status “Can access company resources”, your device is compliant.

   2. With the status “No access to company resources”, your device is currently non-compliant.

Restore Compliance

If your centrally managed WU notebook cannot access company resources according to the overview in the Company Portal:

1. Log in to the device with your WU account

   1. Also pay attention to login prompts in individual applications (e.g., in MS Teams, OneDrive client, or WU online services)

2. If necessary, install any missing updates for the operating system

On Mobile Devices (WU Smartphone, WU Tablet)

1. Open the Defender app and check if it shows: "Everything looks good".

2. If not, please follow the prompts displayed (e.g., update the operating system).
   Please note: It may take about 2 hours for the Company Portal app to receive the cleaned device status from the Defender app.
